Our R&D centre of excellence in Edinburgh, has a new vacancy for a Senior Software Engineer to join our R&D team, working on a project to develop our vision for the next generation healthcare IT systems. This is an excellent opportunity to work on new and emerging technology at the convergence of patient data, medical imaging, and the integration of machine learning/artificial intelligence approaches.

You will be working within one of our research teams, responsible for research, design, architecture, and coding. The work is challenging, intellectually stimulating and requires strong collaborative problem-solving skills.

You will be an experienced engineer who wants to further their career in Software Engineering and has an interest in taking on team lead responsibilities. To be successful, candidates should have an excellent academic record or equivalent skills and a proven track record working in a Software Engineer role.  You will have worked on some important projects already in your career and you will be able to demonstrate the skills and experience you have acquired.

You will be an excellent programmer, with experience in one or more of the following technologies Node, TypeScript, Java, Docker, & Kubernetes. A strong desire to gain experience in the other areas is important as is the capability to quickly pick up new technologies. Ideally, you will also have experience with Linux. Training can be provided depending on your strengths and requirements.

You should also be comfortable working as part of a team and be equally comfortable working alone and collaboratively with colleagues based in the UK, USA, & Japan. You will be able to confidently pick up new technologies and codebases as required.
