Assistant Architectural Technologist

We are seeking for an Assistant Architectural Technologist looking for an rewarding and progressive career to join our growing team in Letchworth, Hertfordshire.

Working within our Technical Team, this exciting role gives you varied responsibility of supporting in the preparation of housing designs, plans and detailed working drawings, as well as attending regular site visits to monitor the build process. You will see projects from the planning stage through construction to completion.

About the Role:

  • Use computer assisted design applications to prepare and issue 2D/3D drawings and models for design, planning and marketing purposes
  • Use CAD applications to produce detailed drawings of new house types
  • Prepare detailed house type working drawings covering all areas of the construction of the build, ensuring all designs are cost effective
  • Ensure all designs are in line with Regulatory and Health & Safety requirements
  • Attend regular site visits to provide support to building team, monitor design and build progress and respond to technical queries

About You:

  • Hold a degree in Architectural Technology or in a similar capacity
  • Previous experience in a similar role and an understanding of the industry, particularly within Residential and Commercial is desirable
  • Excellent IT skills with the use of Microsoft and AutoCAD packages
  • Knowledge of current UK building regulations and NHBC requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work with all levels both internally and externally
  • Ability to prioritise workload, work autonomously and with good organisational skills
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
