JOB DESCRIPTION –FINANCE AND OPERATIONS MANAGER

Salary Scales:£32,164 - £42,886 pa

Grade: Level 3 (Operations)

Hours of Work: Such hours as necessary to carry out your duties. This will involve a minimum of 37 hours per week and may include working outside normal office hours at evenings and weekends and on Public Holidays.

Location: The normal place of work is MANCHESTER INSTITUTE OF HEALTH & PERFORMANCE (MIHP), however the EIS may from time to time require you to travel to and work at other offices.

ROLE SUMMARY

This role has responsibility for the operational management of the EIS Manchester site ensuring effective and efficient processes are in place along with being an integral member of the finance team preparing, distributing and developing the reporting mechanisms for selected cost centres.

MAIN TASKS AND ACTIVITIES

Site Management

  • Be the main operational point of contact for the day-to-day running of EIS Manchester ensuring EIS services and business processes are delivered consistently, professionally and effectively.
  • Line manage and support the administrative staff, agreeing stretching  objectives, monitoring performance and identifying training and development needs.
  • Work closely with site landlords to ensure the smooth delivery of EIS services in Manchester and partner sites.
  • Manage agreed areas of the site budget and be accountable for expenditure, as well as providing budget updates to the Director of Operations and Director of Finance and Business Operations. 

Financial Management

  • Provide reporting to national cost centres to include preparation, distribution and development of reporting for selected cost centres.
  • Be the finance point of contact for queries from national cost centre managers.
  • Monitor spend and forecast on contractors and consumables across the organisation.
  • Support and contribute to other finance projects.

Recruitment & Induction

  • Work closely with the Business Operations Manager & Business Operations Coordinator and Operations/Sport Services Manager to effectively manage EIS services.
  • Work closely with the technical leadership team to ensure recruitment processes are adhered to.
  • Ensure all staff and athletes based in Manchester receive appropriate induction and exit processes. Ensure all athlete records and databases are kept up-to-date.
  • Any ad hoc duties as requested by the Director of Operations and Director of Finance and Business Operations.
