The firm has ambitious growth plans, and the initiatives and actions that the Marketing Manager will be asked to drive and contribute to will have a major impact on the delivery of that growth.

The role requires an exceptional person to implement and support both the firm’s corporate marketing plan and those of specific practice groups, client type groups and industry sector groups.  The role should appeal to people with high initiative, confidence and tact, who can work with drive and enthusiasm across a number of core areas. Building trust and credibility internally with partners and attorneys is crucial to encourage their involvement to deliver against agreed actions, as is the ability to with other stakeholders to market the firm externally.

The manager will report to the Practice Director and from time to time will work closely with external suppliers and consultants. They will be responsible for the Marketing Assistant already in place, and have approval to hire a Marketing Executive if required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Marketing plans: work with colleagues throughout the firm, playing a hands-on role in supporting partners and fee-earners as they deliver marketing and business development plans; review and drive new plans as appropriate
  • Business development initiatives: lead specific initiatives to encourage client and prospect relationship development, where necessary working with external consultants
  • Projects: manage and implement new projects as they arise, for example reciprocity initiatives, target research, etc.
  • Branding: develop and maintain consistently branded materials e.g. website, e-newsletters, social media posts, advertisements, rich-media content, etc.
  • Content: proactively work with fee earners to identify thought-leadership topics and guide them during the content production process. Draft press releases for the firm’s website as needed
  • Marketing communications: develop and implement an email marketing campaign schedule to facilitate effective delivery of campaigns targeting specific industries and client types. Manage the firm’s website content, social media accounts, and PR activity
  • Digital advertising: manage the firms PPC campaigns and ensure cost efficiency, alongside launching the firm’s LinkedIn Sponsored Content advertising
  • Events, sponsorships & networking: effectively deliver internal and external events. Also, work collaboratively with external profile-raising or lead-generating networks to increase our brand exposure and create new contacts
  • CRM systems: manage and manipulate the data for marketing led contact programmes
  • New business tenders and pitches: collate, create and manage new business tenders and pitches, and put an effective, efficient resource in place to assist colleagues
  • Manage suppliers: take the lead in managing the firm’s relationship with its PR and design agencies, alongside others where necessary

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The ideal candidate will be CIM qualified and educated to degree level, with previous experience of working at a manager or executive level in professional services.  Additionally they will offer:

Knowledge and experience

  • Professional service firm experience, including working with and influencing partners
  • Strong campaign management skills across website, social, digital advertising and PR
  • Sector based marketing
  • A good understanding of digital marketing principles, delivery processes and technology
  • Effective and compelling copy writing abilities
  • Experience managing, maintaining and utilising a CRM system
  • Experience developing and implementing processes to grow existing client work and develop relationships with prospective clients
  • Some people and team management/supervision experience
