We are searching for an research scientist with translational sciences and biomarker expertise who will support Kymab’s late stage drug candidates around pre-clinical and clinical biomarker discovery. The role would require the candidate to establish assays and carry out experiments as part of Kymab’s biomarker discovery process in order to drive indications/patient’s stratification efforts. The ideal candidate will be a bench-based scientist who is skilled in some of the relevant clinically validated biomarker techniques and that enjoys delivering biomarker programs scientifically as well as operationally. The candidate will also work in close relationship with the analytical part of the development team and relevant contract research organisations to establish and/or deliver relevant biomarker assays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering scientific and operational activities in biomarker development
  • Driving biomarker development with top CROs
  • Liaise closely with science project leads in the different therapeutic areas to initiate and advance biomarker
  • Contribute scientifically to inception and realization of biomarker discovery and development

Key Requirements


  • PhD in biochemistry, cellular biology and/or molecular biology or MSc with equivalent research experience in one of Kymab’s relevant therapeutic areas
  • Knowledge of immunology, oncology and/or infectious diseases
  • Strong understanding of translational sciences and biomarker discovery, including multi-omic expertise such as transcriptomic, proteomic and/or genomic
  • Knowledge in next generation sequencing, single cells analysis, IHC, FACS
  • Ability to visualise and interpret data resulting from multi-omic platforms used pre-clinical and clinical studies.
  • Good publication record in translation sciences


  • Previous experience working with clinical samples for biomarker analysis
  • Experience working in a commercial environment and knowledge of drug discovery environment
  • Track record of innovative and conceptual thinking
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience and willingness to work in a highly interactive and collaborative environment
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise work, work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a flexible, collaborative style with colleagues and teams within the company and with external advisors including CROs and consultant
  • Driven to achieve results and deliver on objectives
