An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Training & Support Specialist to join our IT team to provide legal application support. It does not include IT infrastructure work. The position will be based in Lewes with travel to other offices when required.

We are looking for a confident communicator who has extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook and Excel and with a good understanding of MS Sharepoint and ideally MS Dynamics CRM and MS SQL Server. A knowledge of Peppermint’s legal case management software and development tools is desirable.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues to resolve IT application support calls, investigate any faults in applications and provide support to all users, as well as delivering induction training for new starters and update training for existing users.

Job Purpose

Mayo Wynne Baxter uses a wide range of different IT applications to help deliver its services. The purpose of this role is to provide support to colleagues in the day to day use of these applications either by fault finding and fixing or advising in the most effective ways of using the applications to meet the company’s objectives.

Additionally, the post will deliver some induction and refresher training as cover for the IT Training Specialist to ensure applications are used in a productive and consistent way across the company.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Application Support

  1. Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure first line support calls are prioritised and resolved as quickly as possible.
  2. Investigate and resolve faults in applications, including reporting faults to and liaising with supplier helpdesks as required.
  3. Provide support to users on all aspects of IT including liaison with any suppliers to assist users achieve resolution of support calls.
  4. Travel to sites to provide support and gather feedback from users on applications and support.


  1. Deliver induction and refresher training in the agreed use of applications as cover for the IT Training Specialist.

Application Development

  1. Work with the IT support team to prioritise beneficial changes to applications identified during training to help drive efficiency and consistent application usage.
  2. Assist the IT support team to make customisations to the company CRM system to enhance usability and reduce support overhead.


  1. Ensuring the confidentiality and security of the firm’s and clients’ documentation and information
  2. Training new staff and cover staff in any of the above tasks and duties
  3. To provide support to colleagues as required
  4. To attend any internal or external courses and events as required and overall to have a responsibility towards self-development
