Purpose of the Role

House of Memories is a highly successful dementia awareness programme designed by National Museums Liverpool to promote compassion, respect and dignity in care to support people living with dementia, their carers and families. The programme offers innovative training and resources developed to support carers in the sharing of memories with people living with dementia, improving communication and focusing on the person rather than the condition.

The role of Commercial Project Manager is to develop a commercial business plan to support the commercial strands of the project. Through benchmarking, research and analysis the project manager will produce a strategic document to identify market segments for existing House of Memories products; develop a commercial pricing strategy and work closely with the Marketing and House of Memories teams to ensure the products are brought to market and sales opportunities are maximised.

The business plan needs to deliver a sustainable model for the future and enable National Museums Liverpool to scale up and deliver the programme across the whole health economy. The approach would bring together family care, social care and hospital care.

This will be delivered via a licensed workforce training model, dedicated website, partnership programmes both in the UK and internationally, online shop.

 

Main Duties

Reporting to the Director of Business Development you will be required to:

  • Research products, pricing, customers, markets and best practice across the commercial, health care, training and museum and heritage sectors.
  • Analyse current performance to identify areas of opportunity to improve income generation and key performance indicators.
  • Develop strategic business plan taking into account all direct costs, sales forecasting, review and management of risks with clear consideration of resource and operational requirements.
  • Build realistic timescales for project delivery.
  • Financial modelling including all direct costs and profit potential for each project or product offer.
  • Presentation of business case data and project evaluation reports to key stakeholders.
  • Project management, working with key stakeholders across the organisation to gain input into business planning.
  • Ensure project timescales are met, approval processes followed, project delivery achieved and project evaluation and analysis requirements delivered to maximise commercial outcomes.
  • Build successful relationships across the organisation to ensure project actions are completed and all team members contribute and deliver their actions.
  • Effective use of communication ensuring communication is timely, accurate and via the best method.
  •  Set up processes to ensure project success is measured and reported against targets and KPI’s. Including reforecasting as required.
  • Agenda preparation and minute taking for project meetings
  • Promote positive image of National Museums Liverpool to key stakeholders.
  • Contribute, as part of a team, to the efficient running of National Museums Liverpool and the delivery of services at all times.
  • Assist in the development of National Museums Liverpool’s commitment to Equality and Diversity and promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.
  • Adhere to National Museums Liverpool’s Health and Safety policies and procedures, National Museums Liverpool’s access and Safeguarding policy as well as other appropriate practices and guidelines.
