Overall Purpose

To assist with the data-basing of the World Museums nationally significant invertebrate collections.

Key Results

Selected parts of the collection will be data-based using MIMSY XG making the collections much more accessible to the wider community.

Activities

  • Data-basing of specimens and label information using the current taxonomical nomenclature.
  • Adding accession labels to specimens.

Measures of Success

  • Supervisor feedback on progress.
  • Publication of collection information and representative images online.

Personal Qualities

  • Patient.
  • Methodical.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Experience of, or, keen interest in biological systematics.
  • An interest in invertebrates and natural history.

 Training Provided

  • Induction.
  • MIMSY training.
  • All relevant aspects of entomology curation.
