Job Description

Position:   Kitchen Porter

Rate of Pay: TBC

Liaison with:  Kitchen Team

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all deliveries arrive as ordered and product temperatures are checked on delivery
  • Ensure deliveries are decanted where possible and packed away promptly
  • Supervision, support and maintenance of BOH working standards
  • Accountable for correct opening, closing and cleaning procedures
  • To ensure Food Hygiene, Health and Safety regulations and COSHH are adhered to
  • Inspect equipment regularly, logging temperatures and report any faults to the Head Chef
  • Report injuries or possible risks to health to the Head Chef
  • Reporting of any pest infestations to Head Chef, liaising with pest inspectors when Head Chef is absent

Product and Service:

  • Maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and Food Hygiene
  • Awareness of allergy data for every menu item

Human Resources and Training:

  • To be a positive member of the kitchen team, motivating current and new staff, conveying a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
  • To be patient and understanding to the needs of customers, the business and BOH staff
  • To be present and proactive at BOH and FOH meetings as and when required
  • To attend and be responsive to any training given on or off the job

General Duties:

  • To set an example to all employees by exemplary timekeeping and attendance
  • To ensure and execute a high level of personal and food hygiene
  • To adhere to NML management of health and safety standards
  • To be a consistent team player in all areas of the business
  • To enforce NML standards and procedures, as per the handbook
  • To perform any task pertinent to the operations as directed by the Head Chef
  • To ensure all checklists are adhered to
  • To actively present and maintain an attention to detail to NML Trading Ltd standards
  • To communicate issues between BOH and FOH during service to ensure standards of customer service and care are kept high
  • To communicate any issues to the Head Chef, ensuring standards of product quality are kept high
  • To adhere to NML management of health and safety standards

Current UK driving licence
