What you’ll be doing…

As a Legal & Business Affairs Executive for PPL, you’ll be working alongside two other Legal & Business Affairs Executives and assisting the team’s senior lawyers, to support the Head of L&BA in carrying out the “general” function of the department for both PPL and VPL (PPL’s sister company which specifically deals with the licensing of music videos), delivering professional results and a high level of customer service. Day to day tasks will include a mixture of taking primary responsibility for certain matters and working together with the Head of L&BA and other members of the Legal and Business Affairs team on a broad range of other matters.

What you’ll need…

This role requires a blend of technical legal skills/knowledge, an understanding of business requirements and sound commercial awareness. We’re looking for someone who has completed or is about to complete their legal training contract.

Key requirements:

  • University degree;
  • Completed LPC (and where applicable CPE/GDL);
  • Qualified as a solicitor (although we would consider a trainee who is due to qualify imminently);
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including drafting skills;
  • Good IT literacy; and
  • Working knowledge of contract law

Additional IP/copyright qualifications would be advantageous as would experience in the music industry, and we are ideally looking for a candidate with experience in one or more of litigation, technology agreements and/or broadcasting.  Some in-house legal experience would also be helpful.

What we have to offer…

In addition to a competitive salary, pension scheme, generous holiday allowance and monthly social events, we offer a fun and highly spirted working environment with great people. When you come on board at PPL you can expect to be rewarded for your hard work in many ways, not just financially. Employees are entitled to a wide range of benefits which support their lifestyle and needs, including a discretionary annual bonus, music benefit (contribution towards a music related activity), private medical insurance and child care vouchers.
