3. Agree to our Privacy Statement
What are the next steps?
You will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application.
Our selection process is tailored to each job but the process typically involves the following stages:
Shortlisting
The recruiting manager will review your application to assess how well your skills and experience match the requirements of the job you have applied for. The advert will include details of the skills and experience required so we recommend that you include details of how you meet these requirements in a covering letter.
If your application is unsuccessful at the shortlist stage we will notify you by email, normally within two weeks of the closing date.
Interviews
If you are shortlisted for a position we will contact you by email to arrange an interview. This is normally within approximately two weeks of the closing date. We often also hold a reserve list of candidates who may be contacted at a later date.
Our interviews usually last about an hour and provide you with the opportunity to discuss with the panel your previous experience and motivation for the role. You will also have an opportunity to ask us questions as we want you to be sure that the role and the RTPI's culture are right for you.
For some roles it is likely that there will be two interviews.
Assessments
For most roles, it is likely that you will be asked to undertake a short work based assessment either before or after the interview. These assessments will vary depending on the role you have applied for but are normally based around the type of work you would be performing in the job.
It is possible, depending on the role, that you may be required to prepare and deliver a presentation to the interview panel.
I can't apply online - who do I contact?
We prefer that you apply online but if you are unable to do so please email recruit@rtpi.org.uk or contact HR on 020 7929 9494
Does RTPI accept speculative CVs?
Yes, you can submit a CV by selecting 'Apply now' on the 'Speculative Application' vacancy page. You will be asked a few questions to help us match your CV to possible future roles.
Please note that we are a very small HR team so your CV will be kept for a limited time and we cannot guarantee that you will be contacted every time a potentially suitable vacancy is advertised. We therefore recommend that you regularly check our website for new vacancies.
