We are currently recruiting for a Management Accountant to join our finance team based in Cheadle, but with flexible working arrangements. The role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is soon to be qualified or a recent past finalist. It will offer a broad range of experience, exposure and responsibility, whilst requiring someone to be able to get into the detail to ensure accuracy. This role will report into the Group Reporting Manager and work within a 21 strong finance team.

This is an exciting opportunity that will best suit a hands-on person who is hungry for a new challenge. You will be well supported in the role whilst being part of a fast moving, growth driven business.

Key responsibilities:

• Monthly Management Accounts preparation and presentation
• Prepare and review financial statements for c. 3 entities
• The usual monthly journals for accruals & prepayments etc.
• Full balance sheet reconciliations with supporting backing
• Intercompany reconciliations
• Variance analysis, including commentary
• Working closely with relevant business areas on Budget setting and forecasting
• Partner with key stakeholders to provide insightful financials
• Participate in statutory external audits
• Engagement in transforming month end and other financial reporting processes

Skills required:

• Keen understanding of month end processes and accounting policies
• Excellent excel and analytical skills
• Experience in process review
• Well organised to ensure monthly deadlines are met
• Strong communication skills
• Effective management of networks and stakeholders, clearly and concisely interfacing with all levels of management
• Hard working and self-motivated
• Methodical and high attention to detail

Desirable Experience / Qualifications:

• Recognised professional qualification or chartered accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
• Preferably has knowledge of Sage 200
