Purpose of the Role

The SHEQ Advisor will provide SHEQ support to the project management team at the Lexington Project in Liverpool.

The role will require a passion for first class delivery, implementing best practice and continuous improvement and promoting BCEGI externally.


What you'll be doing - Key Duties/Responsibilities

With a flexible approach to supporting all BCEGI activities, preferably but not limited to:

  • Assist the project management team in implementing company SHEQ management standards on the project.
  • Promoting a positive health and safety culture on site.
  • Undertake weekly SHEQ inspections.
  • Collate project SHEQ information on a monthly basis.
  • Review risk assessments and method statements.
  • Lead monthly health and safety meeting.
  • Liaise with subcontractor management and operatives on SHEQ matters.
  • Undertake accident investigations.


What we're looking for - Person Specification

Work Experience/Expectations

  • Experience in a similar health and safety advisory role.
  • Experience of independently undertaking SHEQ inspections and writing reports.
  • Experience of collating SHEQ management information.
  • Experience of undertaking accident investigations.

Qualification / Health & Safety Requirements

  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent as a minimum.
  • Relevant health and safety related training e.g. CSCS card, SMSTS etc.

  • Self-motivated.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Confident.
  • The individual should have a desire to continuously pursue innovation and development.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills coupled with the ability to form effective working relationships.
  • Detailed knowledge of codes of practice and other regulatory material.
  • Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Holds a full UK driving.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Hands on approach to health and safety.
