Careers in Care

Black Country Care provides high-quality care services which meet individual needs across the Black Country. This could be in the comfort of their own home, in one of our Residential Care homes, or in our Supported Living schemes. We have developed a fantastic team culture based on our shared values as we work towards making a positive impact on the people we care for.

Whilst experience and qualifications are beneficial, they are not always essential and we are able to offer the right training and experience to develop your career in care. This can be done through thorough training sessions, shadowing colleagues or by completing the Care Certificate.

You will be supporting our customers to improve their quality of life and independence by respecting their choices. Whilst you are working with our clients, you will be required to carry out:
  • Personal care – washing, bathing and maintaining personal appearance
  • Assisting with managing medicines
  • Specialist care such as care for people with dementia or palliative care
  • Supporting people after hospital discharge
  • Housework tasks such as laundry, ironing, preparing meals
  • Shopping, grocery and managing bills
  • Assisting with social activities
  • Sitting services and companionship
We are looking for great carers who are flexible and committed to achieve the best outcomes for our customers. Here at BCHG, our values are central to all that we do and so we are looking for people who display those values every day: Integrity, Positivity, Respect and Quality.

The Care Quality Commission has set out 5 key areas to test the quality of care services:
  • Safe – is the service safe?
  • Effective – is the service effective?
  • Caring – do staff care about customers?
  • Responsive – is the service responsive and flexible?
  • Well-led – is the service and organisation well-led?
We want you to be committed to help us to answer yes against each of those questions and achieve outstanding ratings across all our registered services.
