Black Country Care is the health and care division of Black Country Housing. Black Country Care provides affordable health services to vulnerable people in their own homes as well as our own properties in the Birmingham and Black Country area. Our Supported Living services offer accommodation designed and built for adults with learning disabilities, where we want our customers to live life to the full and enjoy all that life can offer with support on hand whenever it is needed.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join our Supported Living team. This is a new position and will be responsible for assisting the Registered Manager in the day to day management of the service and to deputise in their absence. The role is responsible for developing a culture of strong customer focus that demonstrates a personalised approach to individual’s needs and aspirations. The post holder will develop the service model to meet changing customer needs, commissioning intentions and the financial and contracting landscape and work with the Head of Care and Registered Manager to develop business cases for investment in new services or existing service development.

The post holder will have experience in a supervisory role and managing services to high standards and able to evidence excellent levels of customer & regulatory satisfaction, as well as experience of budgetary management, social care business management and growth planning. Understanding of regulatory best practice in health and social care delivery and the scope of service needs for vulnerable people in the community is essential to the role. The post holder will have a professional Social or Health Care qualification equivalent to a minimum QCF Level 4.

  • Based in Rowley Regis, West Midlands with the requirement to travel and work at other sites within the local area
  • £29,691.52 per annum
  • 35 hours per week
  • There may be a requirement to work unsociable hours including weekends and evenings to meet the needs of the business, as well as participating in the out-of-hours rota as required
  • The post holder will be subject to a six-month probationary period and satisfactory enhanced DBS clearance
