Security Officer

Roles and responsibilities

  1. To ensure security is upheld.
  2. To monitor and control access and car park for staff, visitors and contractors.
  3. To monitor and utilise the CCTV systems.
  4. To take responsibility of the facilities keys.
  5. To ensure all records are maintained correctly.
  6. To liaise with other members of staff and contractors regarding visitors and security issues.
  7. To complete regular patrols.
  8. To complete incident records.
  9. To assist with emergency evacuations.
  10. To enable all activities take place in a safe and secure manner.
  11. To assist and direct visitors.
  12. To lock and unlock.
  13. To meet and greet visitors and guests providing high levels of customer service at all times.
  14. To comply with company regulations and procedures.
  15. To support and practice the club’s customer charter.
  16. To follow the club’s safety policy and implement the club’s security policy.
  17. To undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may be reasonably be required.

General duties and accountabilities

  • To support Brighton & Hove Albion FC and AITC in their aims and objectives at all times.
  • To ensure compliance with all relevant club policies, including health and safety policies.
  • To ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements.
  • To keep confidential any information gained regarding the charity, club and its personnel.
  • To represent Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club and AITC in a professional manner.
  • To maintain a flexible approach to work at all times.
  • To undertake other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Valid and accepted enhanced FA DBS CRC (Criminal Background Check) or be willing to undertake this check if successful
  • Competence and previous experience of working in a similar role in a large multi-purpose building
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Skills in observing situations and decision making
  • Competent level of numeracy and literacy
  • A "can do" attitude
  • Presents solutions rather than problems
  • A genuine team player
  • Warm, friendly, helpful and cheerful persona
  • Highly trustworthy and confidential

Desirable

  • Level 2 (minimum) recognised security qualification
  • Level 2 (minimum) Door staff qualification, SIA (Security Industry Authority) license or similar
  • Level 2 (minimum) CCTV qualification
  • An understanding of major sporting events
  • Microsoft office skills – Word, Excel and Outlook
  • An interest in football
  • Car owner/driver and full clean driving licence
