Special Projects Analyst

Roles and responsibilities

1. To work within the Performance Analysis team on a day-to-day basis ensuring the club’s performance analysis expectations are achieved at all levels.

2. To use data and video to create a library of exemplary clips which can be disseminated throughout the club.

3. To carry out longer term research projects across the club.

4. To maintain and organise the clubs centralised video and data.

5. To utilise the software and hardware available to BHAFC to enhance the performance analysis processes.

6. To distribute footage and data to any third party software providers.

7. To attend meetings, conferences and other associated events as directed by the department manager.

8. Any other duties as defined by the departmental manager and first team coaching staff.

General duties and accountabilities

  • To support Brighton & Hove Albion FC and AITC in their aims and objectives at all times.
  • To ensure compliance with all relevant club policies, including health and safety policies.
  • To ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements.
  • To keep confidential any information gained regarding the charity, club and its personnel.
  • To represent Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club and AITC in a professional manner.
  • To maintain a flexible approach to work at all times.
  • To undertake other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience


  • Undergraduate degree
  • Excellent game knowledge/understanding of the coaching process and how advanced analysis can be integrated
  • Excellent presentation and data visualisation skills that have a meaningful impact on performance
  • Highly competent using general Mac based software
  • Highly experienced user of SportsCode
  • Produces a high level of detail at the team and individual level
  • A “can do” attitude
  • Presents solutions rather than problems
  • A genuine team player
  • Very comfortable communicating with players, coaching staff and other multidisciplinary staff
  • Excels in the pressure of an elite sporting environment, specifically within a first team setting
  • Able to develop strong two-way relationship with coaches and is comfortable challenging the norms where appropriate
  • Constantly evaluating and developing own skills, is self-critical/self-aware to enable self-improvement wherever possible
  • Meticulous attention to detail and consistency in work produced
  • Constantly looking for ways to innovate in own work and thinks about how own work can drive innovation and standards of other staff around them

  • Ability to work unsupervised


  • Coaching experience/qualifications
  • Experience using CoachPaint, SBG Focus & MatchTracker
  • Comfortable with extracting detailed insights from various types of data with a variety of softwares and has the ability to solve complex data problems
  • Has the ability to write a highly detailed report on complex subject matter in a succinct manner which clearly explains the topic
