Skills 4 Performance is BACK for 2019!

The English Institute of Sport is looking for the next generation of support staff to join the team that supported 93% of medal-winning athletes at the 2016 Rio Olympics. The EIS’s hugely successful ‘Skills4Performance’, will be returning in June 201to help with this search.

Skills4Performance aims to provide an insight into the elite sport environment and seek out talented individuals looking to develop their careers in high performance sport. Skills4Performance will offer unique workshops and inspiring speakers that aim to give attendees a better understanding of what is required to work in high performance sport. The course will be held on the 29thJune 2019 at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre. Highlights will include:

  • Engaging with EIS heads of service and their technical teams for a 1-day course at an EIS centre.
  • 8 discipline routes on offer. Choose from: biomechanics, performance analysis, performance lifestyle, performance nutrition, performance psychology, physiology, physiotherapy, and strength and conditioning.
  • The chance to learn about the high-performance system from top speakers, which in the past have included Olympic champions, Performance Directors and leading coaches
  • Training in specific practical and personal skills, essential for working in high performance sport.

Do you want to learn more about working in the elite sport environment? Do you want to see what it is like to be part of the team behind the team? Have you got what it takes to be a high-performing practitioner in elite sport?

If yes, please submit the following via the online application system:

  • One side of A4 (Word document or PDF) to include your reasons for applying, relevant knowledge, experience and qualifications. A traditional CV/covering letter will not be accepted.
  • Applicants should also submit a 2-minute video presenting (as though to an audience of athletes and coaches) a project they have conducted and how they did/would measure and demonstrate its impact on sports performance. This cannot be uploaded as part of your application so we will contact you before the closing date to give you further instructions on where to submit your video.

To apply for the biomechanics route, you must have a BSc and MSc in a relevant field of study.

Please note there will be a cost of £50 per successful applicant.
