What’s the Job?

The Head of Global Education for ghd reports directly to the Global Brand SVP, making it a critical role within the organisation as it needs to work collaboratively with the markets to support the internationalization of programmes and initiatives to support the business needs and overall organisation objectives. This role has special emphasis on leading the Professional and Consumer related education projects, including global education programme and content creation, as well as co-ordination and communication to all countries.

This role has 3 critical areas to cover:

  • Technical and Inspirational Global Education for Professionals and Consumer on going and for launches
  • Content Creation that resonates Globally, follows trends and respects brand strategy
  • Commercial understanding of the overall business to ensure education is a driver piece and POD for ghd. Work very closely with Marketing, Market Research and R&D teams for New Product Development purposes.

 

What will I do?

Global Education

Own, develop and implement global education strategy, instituting global best practices and consistency, ensuring effective delivery of key ghd product launches and brand messages.

  • Create and oversee the 5-year plan Education strategy and in-fiscal-year curriculum implementation.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to all country Education leaders enabling them to deliver current education program and sales team product training.
  • Planning and delivering global trainings on an ongoing basis to all Education leaders and teams, supporting with the team’s growth and knowledge.
  • Provide all master tools required to support education programs, including technical presenters, education brochure and seminar materials.
  • Embrace digitalisation and motivate a culture of digital transformation to ensure new technologies and new ways of learning are fully considered and exploited from design to implementation.
  • Review, revamp and establish qualitative and quantitative KPI that help measure and follow consistently Education globally
  • Listen to local needs and ensure they are embraced at a global level to better serve the markets
  • Drive consistent product usage and language across education and sales teams worldwide.
  • Support in-country at major trade & education events.
  • Manages all Country Education Leaders (dotted line, solid line through Country MD’S) collaboratively and with empathy to strengthen ties with the relevant partners and key stakeholders.
  • Implement plan for recruitment and retention of global education community not only for Coty staff but for Professional network too.
  • Drive the new Flagship space in Dean Street to convert it into a hang hub for Education, Experience and Eventing. Be the centre of excellence for Professional display and consumer experience.

 

Content Creation

Create all education assets needed to support delivery of education programs, stylist and consumer step by steps and provide hair guidance for campaign photoshoots.

  • Creation of annual global trade looks collections together with content team.
  • Lead content creation process with a hands-on approach and collaboratively with the internal teams.
  • Validate content strategy, objective and creative with SVP
  • Lead hair specialist to support Global marketing team with consumer campaigns and global content creation for both trade and consumer projects.
  • Working together with Global Ambassador/s on global projects and specific country requests related to trade.
  • Support specific content projects.
  • Ensure that asset created are relevant and fully used by the markets.
  • Ensure resources are maximised and efficiently used. Manage budget efficiently and with Smart Spending in mind.
  • Follow and identify potential professional partners that share brand values and from whose partnership ghd could benefit from positively, and vice versa.

 

Commercial - NPD

Working alongside with the Head of Marketing and the R&D team through the stage gate process supporting with educational requirements pre/post launch.

  • Providing expert input as required on the NPD gate process to ensure the Professional need is embraced from the conceptualisation of the project.
  • Responsible for providing countries with clear Education launch plan guidance.
  • Creation of education presentations and related collateral for Education teams.
  • Deliver training on all NPD to Education Leaders and teams.
  • Working with Head of Insights on specific projects requiring Educational support.
  • Embraces lead market UK, as part of their extended team.
  • Work passionately to pass the inspiration and love for the brand to ghd teams, Coty as well as external partners
  • Work closely with the Digital teams to drive further the Professional hubs on line and the CRM professional project – launch in FY20
     

Other duties assigned
Accountability. As a member of the Global Team s/he is accountable for:

  • Manifesting the Mission, Vision and Values of the brand and Coty
  • Representing the brand
  • Leverage Social Media as an ally to drive and generate professional endorsement
  • Initiating programs and services that promote positive and constructive exchange, knowledge and understanding within and between the ghd and Coty communities.
  • Identifying problems, making recommendations, implementing solutions and evaluating outcomes for programs/services ethically and with agility.  Avoid to humanly possible any type of internal or external gossiping.
  • Recognizing and celebrating the achievements and contributions of everyone within the Education Community at ghd and Coty.
  • Coach and Develop the global education team reporting into the role. Listen to their needs, ideas and ensure key objectives and development strategies are in place.

 

What skills and qualities will I need?

  • The candidate should have intercultural skills and international awareness
  • Experienced hairdresser
  • Experienced as an education lead for an international product brand
  • Creative, Curious and on Trend with avantgarde eye for design and hair display
  • Experience of working on photoshoots and leading hair teams to create looks according to a brief and budget
  • Digitally savvy
  • Ability to interpret techniques into simple written instructions – eye for simplification and clarity
  • Must be able to manage own time and show initiative
  • Highly organised multi-tasker who is capable of juggling a number of priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines and small budgets
  • Ability to understand commercial priorities and respond accordingly
