What’s the Job?

The role is responsible for administration, research and project management required as part of the development of new products, as well as overseeing the design and delivery of the marketing toolkits required to activate NPD launches and deploy at a global level.  The candidate will report into the Global Head of Marketing.
 

What will I do?

Market Intelligence:

  • Analyzing a specified category on a worldwide basis:
    • Category and competitor market shares (value and volume)
    • Competitor analysis including strategy, product range, pricing, merchandising, business models and how they link up to consumer trends
  • Lead the understanding, analysis and documentation of competitor activity to ensure competitor understanding is front and central in our planning and activation

 

 

Product Development:

  • Recommending new product concepts based on category knowledge, market intelligence and input from markets
  • Define the product proposition (attributes & requirements, concept, claims, pricing and positioning in market) to optimise product reach, sales & profit by gathering and assessing input and information from key stakeholders (Consumers & Stylists, Insights, R&D, Exec etc.)
  • Develop product and packaging briefs when appropriate for internal and external suppliers
  • Work across the multifunctional team (with a specific focus on R&D, Supply Chain and Insights) to manage the development of new products from initial idea through to commercialization using a stage gate process
  • Lead all styler packaging artwork development in Robohead. First developing the global English master copies and then working with markets to develop translations

 

Communication and Go to Market:
 

  • Tracing and evaluating competitor advertising
  • Develop and create brief campaign for agencies & internal teams (design, studio, digital), ensuring they are aligned, briefed and delivered on time
  • Ensures that project status, issues and successes are communicated to project team, stakeholders and all levels of management and documented appropriately. This includes sharing with markets for feedback as part of the monthly M&C calls and post-commercialization monitoring
  • Lead global campaign development, shoots, and all assets for the global launch with all relevant teams
  • Lead global toolkit deployments to markets, ensuring all final assets are saved centrally and deployed coherently and on time to the markets
  • Work alongside the Global Trade Marketing to assist markets in developing their local promotional marketing plans, giving input on their specific plans and how they fit with the global strategies and assets
  • Cooperate in key Presentation to leadership team and markets

 

Digital:
 

  • A strong affinity for Digital – working closely with the Digital and social media teams, and being a creative champion of the new ghd launches regarding digital content (website, CRM and all social media platforms) ensuring that each launch is elevated through all digital platforms, and best practices are shared and rolled out across the markets accordingly
  • Be in touch with our target groups culture, fashion and make-up trends.
  • Understand Social Media networks / channels and their triggers perfectly

 

What skills and qualities will I need?

  • Ideally Part (final year) or fully CIPD qualified preferred
  • Proven experience as an Internal Recruiter or similar role
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability and confidence to work in a fast paced organisation
  • Proactive approach to problem solving with a can do attitude
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels and influence where necessary
  • Confident in using MS applications including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Relevant Employment law knowledge

  • Experience working effectively in a team with a hands on approach
