Selection Process
Following the closing date for the vacancy a shortlisting review will take place and you will be contacted within 3 weeks of the closing date to arrange an interview or for further information. If you do not hear from us by this time you can assume that your application has not been successful.
All vacancies will have an allocated selection panel and, where possible we will ensure all our panels promote gender equality. The panel will collectively shortlist applicants and will ensure that candidates are assessed consistently against the criteria for the position.
As part of the process we will obtain references in advance of any interviews taking place unless requested by you not to do so.
If you are based out with Scotland we will typically conduct the interview via online video conferencing. You may be requested to participate in exercises such as presentations, case studies or other job related studies which have been designed to contribute towards the objective assessment of all candidates. There may also be the requirement for preferred candidates to attend a second interview.
The Human Resources team will co-ordinate interview schedules and requirements.
If you are asked to attend an interview on-site and will incur expenses to do this please ensure that you have confirmed with us what will and won't be reimbursed before finalising any arrangements – generally we will reimburse the most cost effective means of travel and any necessary reasonable accommodation costs. Unfortunately if your expenses haven't been agreed in advance we won't be able to make any reimbursement.
Appointing new employees
If you are successful HR will typically extend your offer verbally and in advance of a formal written offer and contract being sent. The offer will be contingent on successfully completing the pre-employment requirements for the post. This will include but not be limited to reference checks, employment health assessment, confirmation of education/qualifications and right to work in the UK.
