BANK Complementary Therapist (Adult Service)

£9.02 -£10.15 per hour plus 12% holiday pay enhancement (FTE £17,607 - £19,786)

We are recruiting for a BANK Complementary Therapist (Adult Service) to provide complementary therapies to palliative adults in the Luton and South Bedfordshire community, such as massage, Reiki, Reflexology, and aromatherapy massage.

As a qualified and experience therapist you will ensure comprehensive, holistic assessment of patients for complementary therapy treatment and evaluations of interventions.

While providing hands on complementary therapies, you will also contribute to the development and implementation for communicating information concerning patients care including the completion of accurate and comprehensive records.

You will be required to travel independently across the Luton and South Bedfordshire area.

Job Description for BANK Complementary Therapist (Adult Service)

Responsible to:

Complementary Therapy Coordinator

Job Purpose:

 

 

To provide complementary therapies to palliative adults in the community (Luton and South Beds)

Specific Duties:

  • Ensure comprehensive, holistic assessment of patients for complementary therapy treatment and evaluations of interventions.
  • Provide hands-on complementary therapies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation for communicating information concerning patient care including the completion of accurate and comprehensive records.
  • Access and accurately maintain patient records
  • Prioritise and manage personal workload.
  • Advise, support and involve family and carers in providing simple therapy techniques following assessment of need.
  • Ensure efficient use of complementary therapy resources eg oils, equipment etc.
  • Ensure efficient use of Hospice vehicles if used.
  • Ensure infection control and clean laundry practices are followed.
  • Comply with the requirements of Professional Code of Conduct and Practice.
  • Work with Complementary Therapy Coordinator in identifying opportunities to develop and enhance current service.
  • Attend relevant briefings to ensure continuity of care and to educate and advise health care colleagues.
  • Contribute to the training of complementary therapy volunteers.
  • Be aware of current developments in palliative care and the implications of clinical practice.
  • Assist Complementary Therapy Coordinator with ensuring adherence of service to required quality standards.
