We are currently seeking a highly motivated and talented Group Leader / Senior scientist to lead an in vitro group within the Immuno-Oncology Therapy area. Reporting to the VP of Immuno-Oncology, you will play a key leadership role within the group, contributing on a strategic and technical level, initiating new target proposals that introduce innovation with the potential to generate new IP.

Key Responsibilities:

 

You will lead a team of in vitro Scientists (various levels) in delivering antibody therapeutic drug discovery programs from early screening stages into clinical development.

Lead multidisciplinary teams to advance challenging drug discovery projects, applying your in-depth abilities in screening & in vitro pharmacology through utilising a variety of approaches, assay formats and technologies.

Work closely with other teams in the Immuno-Oncology Therapy area, in both a matrix & internal environment, reporting to & interacting with key stakeholders both internally and externally.

Play a key leadership role within the Immuno-Oncology group, contributing on a strategic & technical level to initiate new target proposals that introduce innovation & potential new IP.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

 

  • Ph.D. or equivalent experience in Immunology, Cancer biology or Cell biology, or a related field. Wide-ranging post-doctoral and industrial or related experience is required.

  • Successful track record of Scientific & project delivery, ideally within antibody therapeutics, from screening to clinical development

  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams to advance challenging drug discovery projects

  • Hands-on experience in vitro assay development and high throughput screening with technical proficiency in standard and novel assay formats.

  • Experience in the design and execution of mode-of-action studies for lead characterisation as well as design and implementation of assays in support of clinical development.

Skills & Knowledge

 

  • Extensive technical knowledge in the conception and generation of assays that answer probing fundamental biological questions that allow us to determine the value of our targets and lead antibodies

  • Extensive knowledge of immunotherapy in oncology and a deep understanding of the role of the innate and adaptive immune system

  • Excellent management skills, including the ability to set high but reachable goals, define priorities, manage individual performance, and infuse the team with motivation and a sense of purpose.

  • Demonstrated ability to implement processes necessary to accomplish objectives, knows how to organize people and activities and how to measure progress.

  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and collaboration skills to work in a team-oriented, matrix environment.  Ability to adapt to and effectively manage changes in a fast paced and dynamic environment
