Kymab’s platforms have been designed to maximize the diversity of human antibodies produced in response to immunization with antigens. Selecting from a broad diversity of fully human antibodies allows for the identification of antibodies with optimal drug-like properties.

We are looking for an Animal Technician, to provide support and maintenance for the in vivo pharmacology research projects conducted within the Immuno-oncology and Haematology therapeutic areas.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform checks & observations in line with Home Office guidelines, SOPs & regulations. As part of the team you will be required to participate in a weekend/bank holiday rota to perform essential check-ups & procedures, roughly equivalent to one weekend in 5, with time off given in lieu

  • Perform regulated in vivo procedures covered by Home Office licences

  • Perform laboratory tasks to support the ethical conduct of studies including assessment of clinical signs/symptoms

  • Support pharmacology scientists in their work

  • Perform tissue culture in support of studies

  • Harvest experimental tissues

  • Maintain the unit to a high operational standard

  • Ensure accurate recording of and reporting of data to scientist in the team

Job Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Experience in a Home Office Licensed facility

  • Current Personal Home Office Licence holder A-B or A-C

  • Good level of experience with regulated in vivo procedures related to the Home Office Licence

  • Educated to A-Level/BTEC/Degree level

Skills & Knowledge

  • Able to work as a part of a team and independently

  • Awareness of A[SP]A and 3Rs

  • Ability to follow SOPs

  • Effective at communicating and liaising with others

  • Ability to keep neat and accurate records

  • Keenness to learn new techniques and procedures
