Kymab is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing a deep pipeline of novel antibody-based therapies in a broad range of indications. The Company generates its product candidates using its proprietary, integrated platforms collectively called IntelliSelect®. Kymab’s platforms have been designed to maximize the diversity of human antibodies produced in response to immunization with antigens. Selecting from a broad diversity of fully human antibodies allows for the identification of antibodies with optimal drug-like properties.

Reporting to the Team Leader of Drug Product Development, we are looking for a highly skilled formulation scientist to support the early stage formulation development of Kymab pipeline. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-growing environment within the Biopharmaceutical Development (BPD) and build the drug product strategy to enable pre-clinical and clinical studies.

You will be responsible for generating data packages to drive the drug product development for Kymab pipeline and help building a seamless internal capability by working closely with cell line, cell culture, downstream and analytical teams. You will be involved in a range of activities such as:

  • Perform pre-formulation and formulation studies, force degradation, accelerated and real time studies

  • Design, conduct and interpret analytical assays (e.g. chromatographic and electrophoretic methods, light scattering) to support screening stages, product quality analysis and stability testing

  • Contribute to establish new stability indicating assays

  • Provide concise data summary and present outcome to key stakeholders

Job Requirements

  • Proven, demonstrable experience in liquid formulation of biologics, excipients screening and stability testing

  • Experience in formulation of bispecific antibodies and non-conventional formats (desirable)

  • Experience in lyophilization of biologics (desirable)

  • Experience in drug product fill/finish and labelling processes (desirable)

Skills & Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of protein biochemistry and/or protein biophysics

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, troubleshoot effectively and respond quickly to changes in priority

  • Methodical, organised with an aptitude for detail
