Kymab is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing a deep pipeline of novel antibody-based therapies in a broad range of indications. The Company generates its product candidates using its proprietary, integrated platforms collectively called IntelliSelect®. Kymab’s platforms have been designed to maximize the diversity of human antibodies produced in response to immunization with antigens. Selecting from a broad diversity of fully human antibodies allows for the identification of antibodies with optimal drug-like properties.

We are looking for a senior research scientist with immunology, translational sciences and biomarker expertise.  The successful candidate will report to Kymab’s senior director of translational medicine and support the company late stage drug candidates for pre-clinical and clinical translational medicine efforts and biomarker discovery.

The candidate will take an active part of multidisciplinary teams who provide strategic inputs for delivering relevant experiments for IND enabling activities and establishing response biomarker hypothesis using clinical samples. In more details, the successful candidate will plan and carry out experiments in order to (1) further refine the mechanism of action of Kymab’s drug candidates, (2) identify relevant patients and clinical indications and finally to (3) develop novel hypothesis around response biomarkers. The ideal candidate will have a strong immunology background and will need to spend some of her/his time at a bench. The candidate will also work in close relationship with relevant contract research organisations to establish and/or deliver clinical biomarker assays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to Kymab’s senior director of translational medicine and work with project science leads, medical leads and the development team to establish and deliver pre-clinical and clinical biomarker strategies.
  • Search for new biomarkers to support Kymab’s drug development.
    • Deliver scientific and operational activities (qualification and validation) in biomarker assay selection and development to provide clinical teams with validated assays for sample analysis.
    • Identify new clinical biomarkers for patient stratification for Kymab’s antibody therapies.
    • Identify and collaborate with external CRO and academic collaborators to support testing of samples to meet timelines for nonclinical and clinical studies.
    • Design, develop, run or supervise in vitro primary cell based assays (Receptor occupancy, IHC assay, transcriptomic, cytokines analysis etc..).
  • Keep abreast of relevant literature on Kymab’s target and novel clinical biomarkers
  • Oversee biomarker patient sample management during clinical trials.
