Kymab is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing a deep pipeline of novel antibody-based therapies in a broad range of indications. The Company generates its product candidates using its proprietary, integrated platforms collectively called IntelliSelect®. Kymab’s platforms have been designed to maximize the diversity of human antibodies produced in response to immunization with antigens. Selecting from a broad diversity of fully human antibodies allows for the identification of antibodies with optimal drug-like properties.      

We are looking for an outstanding scientist to join our Antibody Discovery Group at Kymab.  Antibody Discovery Group is the main engine to generate drug candidates for all the internal and external projects. This scientist will work on a variety of projects using our in-house IntelliSelect® technology. This role will have the opportunity to contribute to develop advanced technology using microfluidics-based single cell technology to benefit antibody drug discovery programmes across the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with other members in the Antibody Discovery group to generate a panel of antibodies with broad coverage of B-cell repertoire 
  • Contributing to the development and establishment of an advanced microfluidics based single cell technology for monoclonal antibody drug discovery
  • Co-ordinate work across teams to leverage expertise across the company
  • Present results at internal company meetings and to partners as required
  • Support patent filings and scientific publications where appropriate
  • Train others in the use of the technology as appropriate

REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience

  • PhD in biology, immunology, computational biology or similar discipline
  • Experience related to single cell next generation sequencing
  • Experience discussing and presenting scientific experiments and results

Skills and Knowledge            

  • Strong track record of scientific achievement
  • Strong organization skills with proven ability to interpret data in a logical and understandable form
  • Theoretical knowledge and practical experience of single cell analysis
  • Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis desirable

  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Intellectually interested in one or more aspects of biology and medicine
