Human Resources Advisor

£12,833 – 14,000 per annum

The Royal Armouries is the United Kingdom’s national museum of arms and armour and one of the most important collections of its type in the world, housed at its headquarters and flagship museum in Leeds, its historic home at the Tower of London, and the Victorian Fort Nelson in Hampshire.

We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor to join the existing HR team.  Reporting to the HR Manager the successful applicant will provide professional support service to managers and staff, acting as the initial contact for HR advice, ensuring queries are dealt with accurately, efficiently and professionally.  Ensuring RA employment practice is efficient, high quality and an increasingly attractive employer.

The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly, be highly organised and self-motivated with a proven ability to work to tight deadlines. They must be an effective and professional communicator, able to engage with stakeholders and build relationships at all levels across the organisation.

A part time position working 21 hours per week, 3 (negotiable) days out of 5 (Monday to Friday).  The role will predominantly be hybrid with some presents required in the office.

Full Job Description

To provide a professional support service to managers and staff, acting as the initial contact for HR advice, ensuring queries are dealt with accurately, efficiently and professionally.  Ensuring RA employment practice is efficient, high quality and an increasingly attractive employer.

Key Tasks           

  • Providing HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on operational ER matters including, polices & procedures and terms & conditions.
  • To provide an efficient, service response on routine HR activities including, recruitment, ER matters, grievance and disciplinary procedures and attendance management.
  • Under the guidance of the HR Manager, manage caseload of operational employee relations issues
  • Work with the HR Manager to develop policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to the HR & Pensions Administrator as required.
  • To provide cover for the HR & Pensions Administrator in respect to recruitment, recording absence, leaver processing, issuing contracts and other HR related matters.
  • Monitoring annual leave, holiday carry over, LOS allocation etc, to ensure that leave is taken in line with contractual arrangements.
  • Responsible for administering the E-Learning training system, adding and removing employees and allocating modules in line with the job requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring the integrity of the information stored on the IRIS Cascade HR System.
  • Providing assistance to the HR Manager with audit activities and action plans
  • Be responsible for conducting HR inductions for new starters.
  • Producing and providing KPI information for the HR Manager on a monthly basis
  • Support all non-executive recruitment activities.
  • To undertake specific projects as directed in developing the service.
  • To undertake other work commensurate with the post as directed.

Reporting Structure

This post reports to the Human Resources Manager.

Hours

A part time position working 21 hours per week, 3 (negotiable) days out of 7.

Weekend, Bank Holiday and evening working may be required.

Physical Conditions

Remote working, with occasional travel to other RA sites may be required from time to time.
