Job Title:                            Trainee Compliance Administrator

Reports to:                                       Head of Compliance

Job summary:                                 The Compliance Administrator will support the  Compliance team in carrying a number of compliance related activities for Saltgate and will make a key contribution to local and group level compliance tasks.  

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor completion of compliance mandatory trainings and maintain the register.
  2. Assist with the maintenance of the Events (Errors, breaches and Complaints) register. The tasks will include logging new Events and updates, and provide extracts from the register as required
  3. Assist with the maintenance, monitoring, and providing extracts as required, of the regulatory correspondence register, regulatory update register, conflicts of interest register and other regulatory registers.
  4. Assist the team with timely and accurate completion of statutory and regulatory filing and other deliverables.
  5. Assist the business to prepare for regulatory audits and other visits.
  6. Assist with ad’ hoc projects when required.
  7. Promoting a positive regulatory compliance culture within the business.


Desirable skills / experience:

  1. Preferably 1 years’ experience working within the Jersey and/or UK financial services business.
  2. Strong academic background.
  3. Team player with a positive attitude.
  4. Good communication skills.
  5. Ability to work independently when required.
  6. Accurate and methodical.
  7. Good judgement skills.
  8. Organised, flexible and keen to learn.
  9. Competent user of IT.

Any questions or issues should be escalated in a timely manner to designated individuals, or if in doubt, consultation should take place with the relevant line manager.
