Apprenticeship opportunities at Tenet

We're pretty sure if you have got this far, you'll already be pretty clued up about being an apprentice but here is our guide to apprenticeships just in case there are bits you want to know more about.

What is it?

An apprenticeship gives you hands on experience, a salary and the opportunity to gain qualifications while you work.

To get your new career started you usually need a combination of experience and qualifications, which makes  an apprenticeship perfect, as it gives you both by combining on the job training whilst working towards a recognised qualification. Our apprenticeships usually take between one and two years to complete depending on the level of qualification.

Apprenticeships exist in many different subjects giving a wide range for you to choose from. Here at Tenet we currently have apprentices working towards a diverse range of qualifications which include:

Range of apprentice qualifications
  • Business Administration
  • Business Data Analysis
  • Paraplanner (a Financial Services recognised qualification)
  • Information technology
  • Financial Services Administrator
  • Customer Services

Why Tenet?

Here at Tenet we have a very personal approach, which is geared around ensuring that all of our Apprentices have a positive experience in the work environment, as we recognise this kind of environment may be new to some.  We train our managers to ensure that they treat people fairly and supportively, and we pride ourselves on the widely recognised 'family feel' at Tenet. We also have a lot of fun with regular social and charity events organized by our Social Committee.

How much do we pay?

The minimum wage for apprentices aged 16-18 is currently £3.50 per hour. The same applies if you're 19 and over and in the first year of your apprenticeship. The great news is that at Tenet we actually pay more than this, as we recognise the value you can bring to our business.

Do we guarantee a job at the end of your apprenticeship?

Our ethos is wherever possible to retain those apprentices that have demonstrated their commitment to developing their knowledge, skills and behaviours in line with the business. We are very proud of our record to date which has seen us offering permanent roles to all of our apprentices who have successfully completed their qualifications.

Ryan Smith our current Paraplanner apprentice had this to say:

"My experience here so far at Tenet has been nothing but positive, everyone in the office is a delight to work with and has helped me settle in well. There is always something different to do, and I am learning so much more than I have done in any past role."

What else do we offer to our apprentices?

On top of an increased salary and the opportunity to earn whilst learn, you will receive regular one to one meetings with your line manager, to provide guidance, support and feedback as well as regular mentoring sessions with our Learning & Development Partner. We also offer a wide range of other staff training activities and you will be encouraged to develop your skills and knowledge across a diverse range of training opportunities.

As one of our core values is 'shared success' we continually look for opportunities for you to add accolades to your own CV and we have had apprentices appearing in Financial Services media as well as being in the spotlight with their own providers.

So what does it take?

We look for punctuality, reliability and a real interest in the job coupled with a willingness to learn. We definitely believe in  'recruiting for attitude, training for skills' So don't worry if you don't have any previous experience. If you have the right attitude, we want to hear from you.
