Do you want to be part of a construction team that build amazing and unique theatre sets which are viewed and admired by thousands of people worldwide?  Think you have the talent and skills to produce first class scenery? Then join our team at TR2. 

TR2 Production and Learning Centre is the Theatre Royal Plymouth’s purpose-built workshop facility based in Plymouth. We build scenery that is played on stages worldwide.  We also make unique structures for arts and exhibition installations.

This amazing creative output is achieved by our talented team of makers.  Construction begins in wood and metal, but the nature of scenic building often incorporates a multitude of different materials. We also have a team of scenic artists who finish everything off to perfection.  To join our team, you will need to enjoy learning new skills and continually develop them.  You will also love problem solving as no two set builds will be the same. 

Collaboration is what makes it all happen and along with the team of makers and scenic artists you will be working with managers and draughtspersons.

Our makers are awarded pay grades (from 1-4) The grade is determined by level of skill and experience, with the opportunity to progress through training.

You will also need to have a flexible pro-active approach to working hours and overtime. 

Normal working weeks are 8 hours a day 8:30am to 5pm, 40 hours per week.  Working times for casual staff can vary.
